Good Friday Message

We have done our best to be united with you all during these days. I hope you found our little videos helpful. Of course we were fortunate to have the Triduum televised. However we cannot substitute real liturgical experiences by relying on virtual transmission over the air. And yet we have been brought together by readings, prayer and music. I am grateful to all who contributed.

Today (Good Friday) we brought Maria Alice (Lady Dunsany) to her final resting place . May she rest in peace. We continue to pray for and with bereaved families. Be assured that those named on the parish diary are included in private Masses. Life continues with all its ups and downs so it is important for us to remember, even as we are confined, that families continue to deal with ordinary challenges such as sickness, financial worries and death due to natural causes excluding covid 19.

Of course we must not relax in our vigilance against contagion. As followers of Jesus Christ we need to continue our prayer life. These days remind us that Jesus forsaken in suffering and risen with his light among us are two sides of the same coin.
