Welcome

We are delighted to welcome parishioners back to Church as we resume some sense of normality. Over the past four months we have tried to make the best of our shutdown situation. I had daily Mass privately in the Presbytery and of course we had the weekly videos which were very much appreciated. Thanks to Lisa Smith, Enda McGorman and all those who participated. Our parish and beyond was able to share and pray together. In order to have continuity of worship in the parish we also had Mass in both churches at the weekend. Thank God, we had only one Covid-19 death (Lady Maria Alice Dunsany). The Diocese made arrangements to have a younger priest take care of funerals, but this was not necessary. We did have the sad deaths of baby Erin Brady,  Nuala and Gertie Loughran (Robinstown), Albert Foley (formerly Killeen), Veronica Swan, George Downey (3yr old), Thomas McPhelim and Kitty McIntyre.  May they rest in eternal peace.

This was not a totally empty time, although it proved stressful for some. Many were able to share with families at a deeper level and even realign their lives towards a more tranquil future.

Please pray for Fr Patrick Keary former parish priest of Clara, Co Offaly Fr Keary also taught in St Finian’s College.

Collections

We have lost our weekly offertory collections for these months of lockdown. Hopefully, outstanding parish contributions will come in. During the past three months some donations were handed in. If you have a Trocaire donation please send it in separately as this will be forwarded to their office. The parish needs to recover financially as well as spiritually and emotionally.

It might be convenient for some to donate directly to the bank. These are the details :Kilmessan Church, Bank of Ireland Dunshaughlin.  Parish a/c number 25674909       IBAN   IE72 BOFI 9034 3726 6749 09

If you do make a transfer to our account please let us know so that we can keep everything in order.

Confirmation will be in Trim on August 31st at 7pm.

First Holy Communion will probably be in September. All this is contingent on the containment of the virus.

During the lockdown Mass was offered for all in the parish. However, please note that anniversaries and baptisms can now be booked in by phoning the presbytery, preferably on a Tuesday morning when the parish secretary is in the office.           N.B. Attendance in churches restricted to 50  (There are speakers outside both churches)

We ask everyone to take great care and follow H.S.E. protocols at all times.
